The Florida Association of Planned Parenthood Affiliates (FAPPA) is the state public policy office representing Florida?s five Planned Parenthood affiliates. FAPPA works to advance public policy in areas of reproductive health care, family planning and medically-accurate sex education in order to make comprehensive reproductive health care available to all.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
? Engineers rapid response to attacks and opportunities--defending our brand, and injecting the voices of our patients, donors and volunteers into important debates.
? Serves as a spokesperson for the organization; screens and responds to press queries and requests for information; arranges interviews with and prepares talking points for organization spokespersons.
? Writes press releases, statements, media advisories, letters-to-the-editor, opinion editorials, fact sheets and content for online mediums such as websites and social media sites.
? Pro-actively contacts editors, reporters and producers to secure coverage and frame the key narratives of Planned Parenthood.
? Creates systems and work plans to ensure an efficient workflow process and a high level of customer service satisfaction among colleagues seeking collaboration on communications projects.
? Develops digital and social media strategies to promote agency?s policy, advocacy, and fundraising goals.
? Creates and maintains various website creative and multimedia elements.
? Directs the creation and production of collateral materials.
? Develops and executes marketing strategies to attract patients, donors and volunteers.
? Defines, tracks, measures and reports on the progress of initiatives against goals.
? Supervises the Communications Manager.
